About Us

Open Energy Transition (OET) was established in May 2023 in Bayreuth and has grown to a team of over 13 passionate professionals. We are a non-profit environmental think tank and software company at the forefront of accelerating the global energy transition. Our mission is to advance transparency, accessibility, and collaboration in energy planning, striving towards 100% renewable energy adoption.

We pride ourselves on our innovative approach, disrupting the market with free and open-source software tools for energy planning purposes. We have the privilege to work alongside leaders in the field, including conducting workshops at prestigious institutions like Stanford University and partnering with leading research labs. Currently, we earn our money with consultancy, software development and soon with software platform offerings. As our team is led by tech cracks, we are searching for operational leadership with a growth mindset!
