Fossilised remains of a foot-long slimy sea creature have been identified as belonging to a 100 million-year-old hagfish, a creature with no jaws, eyes or true vertebrae. Researchers said the fossil, named Tethymyxine tapirostrum, suggests the last common ancestors of all vertebrates were more typically 'fish-like' than a squishy eel. It was reportedly unearthed around eight years ago in Lebanon.
