The usage of cars around the world is declining and has given us advanatges in our society and our enivironment.

Vauban, Germany has forbidden street parking, driveways, and home garages. This city is completely a "car-free" district. This has a postive affect on the families that have moved to this district. "When I had a car I was always tense. I'm much happier this way." said Heidrun Walter a resdient in the area. Germany is not the only country to take action on this act. Paris, France has enforced a driving ban to clear the air. Car usage is a huge effect of gases that is release. People were fined if they were cought driving. The streets of Paris was a car-free city and public tranportation was free of charge. Late on that week the smog cleared enough that the baning of cars was realeased.

As for the othr side of the world, Bogota, Colombia has taken action too. This capital city has a program called the Day Without Cars. This day bans the use of cars and only buses and taxis are permitted of usage. "The goal is to promote alternative transportation and reduce smog." according to the article. This program is incredible that citizens are enjoying and encouraging this act. A businessman said, "It's a good opportunity to take away stress and lower air pollution." These acts of limiting car usage has benfits for the enivonment. Bill Ford, executive chairman of th Ford Motor company has also created a plan. He wants to create cities in which, "pedestrian, bicycle, private cars, commercial and public transportation traffic are woven into a connected network to save time, conserve resources, lower emissions and improve safety." These are advatanges that need to be taken as more and more areas are limiting car usage. They benfit our health, society, and enivornment.

All in all, these are only some advantages of limiting car usage. The more acts we start applying the more postive changes will start arriving in our generation.
