Automatic Capitalization warning messages

If Adapt It detects a problem with Automatic Capitalization, it will display one of several messages.

Adapt It cannot tell if the source language uses upper and lower case

This message asks if the source language needs to distinguish between upper case and lower case. If it does click Yes. Adapt It then checks the Lower to Upper Equivalences; if they are okay, Adapt It closes the message and you can then turn on Automatic Capitalization in the Tools menu.

If the Lower to Upper Case equivalences are not correct, Adapt It displays the next message.

If the source language does not have upper and lower case, click No to close the window. You cannot turn on Automatic Capitalization.

Source language upper and lower case equivalences do not exist

After you specify that the source language uses upper and lower case as in the previous message, you may see this message. It occurs when Adapt It cannot detect the lower to upper case equivalences. You need to enter them by using the Edit menu to select the Preferences option and opening the Case tab.

Click OK to close the message.

On occasion you may see this message even though you have set the equivalences. The Preferences dialogue must be closed before you can set Automatic Capitalization.

Invalid Source or Target equivalences

This message occurs when Adapt It detects an error in source or target list of lower to upper case equivalences. (The image shows the target list form of the message.) Each entry in the lists must contain two letters. Click OK to close the message.
