A hole is a target text location that contains neither target text nor a special "nothing" adaptation obtained by clicking the <no adaptation> button. A hole is truly empty and is ready to receive an adaptation. In the automatic mode, Adapt It stops the adaptation process when it finds a hole and places the Phrase box at that location so that you can make an adaptation.
